Day 1: Arrive Lucknow & Drive to Dudhwa

Arrive Lucknow by early morning flight (0730 hrs) and drive to the Lodge, reaching there by Noon.

Lunch

Late afternoon, orientation tour of the area (2.30 hrs). You drive in an open jeep takes you to visit the homes of the villagers who work in the hundreds of acres of sugar cane plantations. Drive further to the Nepal border, which is hardly 40 minutes from the Lodge. We then take you along the forest swamp with the possibility to see some crocodiles and a variety of birds. Drive back to the Camp/Lodge through a maze of sugar cane plantations.

Evening tea.

Dinner and overnight.

Day 2: In Dudhwa

After your tea, you leave the Lodge at 0545 hrs for the Dudhwa National Park, which is a convenient 40 minutes drive. Entry formalities and drive for around 10 km into the jungle to the Elephant Camp. Sitting atop an elephant, you go deeper into the forest in search of the one-horned rhino. This ‘search’ could take anything from 30 to 90 minutes! Later, drive around the forest to catch a glimpse of the other wildlife. We leave the Park area by 1015 hrs and breakfast is then served before you drive back to the Lodge.

Lunch.

We once again leave the Lodge for the Dudhwa National Park. Drive around to view the animals in their natural habitat. Towards sunset, spend time at the ‘jheel’ (water body) which has an absolutely amazing variety of bird and other mammal life.

Return to the Lodge in time for Evening Tea.

Day 3: In Dudhwa

This morning, you leave for Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary by 0600 hrs after ‘chota hazri’ ( small breakfast). It will take around two hours to reach. You then take a boat to view an amazing variety of birds, ‘gharials’ (crocodiles) and there is also the possibility of seeing freshwater Gangetic dolphins.  After a ‘forest breakfast’, you return to the Lodge by 1330 hrs, in time for lunch.

NOTE: This is recommended only from 15 November to 31 March.

The afternoon is free to relax and unwind.

Day 4: Dudhwa / Lucknow

Early morning departure at 0600 hrs after tea for the Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary. The drive will be for approximately one hour. Visit the Sanctuary which has the elusive tiger, an amazing variety of deer, birds and sloth bear.  Breakfast is served around 1000 hrs and you then leave the Sanctuary.

Drive further to Lucknow (3 hrs) reaching in time for a late lunch.

This is followed by an orientation tour of the city, driving around seeing the amazing building.

Later, transfer to the airport for your evening onward flight.
